Alto Imaging logo design and brand identity

Previously known as Hunter Radiology, a successful chain of radiologists in the Hunter region of NSW had been pushing into new regions, and decided to undertake a complete overhaul of their brand.

The business environment

We undertook a series of reviews, gathering input and intelligence to help shape our understanding of the industry and to build a creative strategy.

This uncovered the insight that radiology practices typically focus their energies on telling the story of their output – X-rays, Ultrasound and so on – and not of their process. The truth is that the output is very similar no matter which radiologist you visit, but the process is truly something that can set you apart as a business.

This led us to create a customer-centric identity. Key words we identified in our brief were: calming, assured, modern, friendly and human. 

The naming process

We were tempted by names that directly referenced the humanity we identified as an opportunity in our research. But we decided that there was a danger of going too far in that direction. Instead, we proposed names that worked to highlight quality, professionalism and perfectionism.

Of the alternatives we presented, Alto Imaging resonated best. 

Creating a positive, human centric brand

The logo design and brand identity literally puts the customer at the centre of the business in a positive, happy way. From this we developed a wider visual language to express Alto’s key point of difference – a process and environment that puts people first.

It is bright and outgoing. Friendly and human.

And most importantly, it’s an identity that gives the business the tools to grow to the next level by expanding their footprint and building their customer loyalty.

We’ve proven that radiologists don’t need to look the same. In fact, it’s better to be unique.
